Telecounseling at Choices Women's Medical Center

Choices has been a leader in developing online services for women’s health since 2016, participating in FDA approved pilot studies and clinical trials.

Choices has expanded our Telemedicine services during the pandemic to enable patients to stay in the safety and convenience of their own homes and access the same high-quality care they receive during “in-clinic” visits.

Telemedicine and Televisits are especially important during this pandemic when staying at home is critical to saving lives. From counseling with licensed social workers to a range of essential GYN visits including follow-ups, lab results, prenatal care, birth control, nutrition, and general options counseling, we ensure that our patients can privately and safely access our health professionals.

Telehealth

What Telehealth services does Choices offer?

What is Telecounseling?

Telecounseling is part of the growing field of telemedicine, also called telehealth, where patients can have appointments with medical professionals by telephone or video over the internet.  It is easy to access and especially important during the coronavirus pandemic when staying at home is important for stopping infection and saving lives. Our Telemedicine services give at-home patients the same high-quality care they receive during in-clinic visits.

What happens during a virtual Pre-abortion Options Counseling Session?

You will speak with one of our licensed social workers by video who is sensitive and experienced with reproductive health issues. She will go over the options available to you: abortion (medical to 10 weeks; surgical to 24 weeks); adoption; or giving birth and keeping the baby. She will discuss with you any concerns you may have and answer any questions.  Your virtual counseling appointment will be totally private.  The choice is yours to make.  At this time, you can also make an appointment to come in to Choices for an ultrasound and abortion, either medical or surgical.

What other issues can you help me with?

Our licensed counselors are sensitive to issues that may be especially serious at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, and are experienced in:

  • Depression Screening
  • Domestic Violence Screening & Counseling
  • Alcohol and Substance Abuse Screenings and Referrals
